Further Developments after the Two over One Response
The two-over one shows game forcing values, and almost always a decent 5-card suit or source of tricks. You would make a two-over-one response on a 4-card suit only if you had 16+ HCP and three-card-support, or with a 1=4=4=4 hand in response to partner’s opening 1♠.
If responder’s next action is to go back to opener’s major, this guarantees at least three card support, and asks opener to make her cheapest cue bid or else to bid 3NT to show serious interest in slam.
